Step 3: Client installation

Download the latest OpenVPN client from the official site or from the links below: OpenVPN Connect Download.

Install the downloaded program using the prompts.

Step 4: Applying configurations

Launch OpenVPN Connect and go to the "File" tab (as in the picture below). Drag the configuration file you received into the program window or use the "Browse" button.

Set the "Connect after import" flag and add the configuration using the "Add" button, as shown below.

Step 5: Connect and check

After successfully importing and adding the configuration, your client will automatically connect to the required network. To disable and enable VPN connection, use the switch

Next, be sure to check your IP address. This can be done using free whois services by visiting the required website.

On Ubuntu or Debian , you can install it just as you did on the server by typing:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install openvp

On CentOS you can enable the EPEL repositories and then install it by typing:

sudo yum install epel-release
sudo yum install openvpn

Step 4: Configuring

You will receive a ready-made configuration file right away, so the setup procedure is not needed.

Step 5: Connect and check

Now, you can connect to the VPN by just pointing the openvpn command to the client configuration file:

sudo openvpn --config your_configuration_file.ovpn

iOS devices do not need any presets. Therefore, to connect, you just need to run the previously sent configuration file (directly from the device or Telegram application), select the "Copy to OpenVPN" icon as a default program, as shown below.

Next, using the program prompts, add our configuration as a connection profile using the "Add" button.

After the name of your profile is displayed, set the "Connect after import" flag and add the configuration using the "Add" button, as shown below.
